RON92 for your car
Given the skyrocketing fuel prices, people think of ways to reduce their fuel consumption.
Now there's no denying that fuel is a necessity that everyone has grown to depend on, but there are still ways to reduce the 'pain' at the pumps.
First there's the driving habit,
i) Don't drive like a madman violently trying to stomp out a fire at the pedals....
Hard acceleration = more energy burned, as more acceleration = more force (Force = Mass x acceleration)
Hard braking only wears out your brake pads and dissipating the kinetic energy of your car as heat.
ii) Don't drive as if you're heading to the income tax department on the last day of submission (ie. don't drive so fast)
The faster you drive, the more energy is needed to overcome the increasing air resistance. Follow the speed limits (this of course, takes quite a bit of will power and discipline)
Then there is also, using LOWER Octane number fuels.....
At the pumps, there are 2 types of fuel, RON97 , RM2.70 and RON92 , RM2.62
What most people don't know is that newer cars are tuned to run with RON92 or lower, that means the car can run with this fuel without any problems at all. Versus the long time misconception everyone has about the fuel being 'low grade' and good only for the 'motor roti' bringing bread to your neighbourhood. (incidently, what happened to those? Never seen one around anymore)

Just make sure to check your car owner's manual to determine if your car can run on RON92. I know my Honda can........
